Bio

Peter Chan graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a bachelor’s degree in laws in 1979 and has been a practicing solicitor in Hong Kong since 1982, he was also admitted as a Notary Public in 1997 and was appointed as a China-appointed Attesting Officer in 2000.

Peter’s area of practice includes corporate finance, merger and acquisition, commercial litigation, and investigations by regulatory bodies like ICAC, Securities and Futures Commission and Stock Exchange.

Peter is also a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors and currently acts as independent non-executive director in a number of Hong Kong and overseas listed companies, namely China Taifeng Beddings Holdings Limited (Stock Code: 873), China Precious Metal Resources Holdings Co., Limited (Stock Code: 1194), Tianjin TEDA Biomedical Engineering Company Limited (Stock Code: 8189), Tianhe Chemicals Group Limited (Stock Code: 1619), China Fortune Financial Group Limited (Stock Code: 290), and Runway Global Holdings Company Limited, all listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange; and Luxking Group Holdings Limited (Stock Code: L34) listed on the Singapore Exchange. Peter also acts as non-executive director in a number of Hong Kong and overseas listed companies, namely Combest Holdings Limited (Stock Code: 8190) listed on the GEM Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and Pan Hong Property Group Limited (Stock Code: P36) listed on the Singapore Exchange.

In the past three years, Peter had held directorships in a number of Hong Kong and overseas listed companies, namely as non-executive director of United Pacific Industries Limited (Stock Code: 176) and Pacific Plywood Holdings Limited (Stock Code: 767) listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange; as alternate director of Zhongda International Holdings Limited (Stock Code: 909) listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange; and as independent non-executive director of People’s Food Holdings Limited (Stock Code: P05) listed on Singapore Exchange.

Peter also actively takes part in public and community services. He is currently Chairman of the Appeal Tribunal, Buildings Ordinance (Chapter 123 of the Laws of Hong Kong); member of the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal; member of the Association of China Appointed Attesting Officers Disciplinary Panel; manager of Ho Fung College (sponsored by Sik Sik Yuen); and council member of the Hong Kong Society for the Blind. He also acts as legal advisor for a number of charities and associations of civil servants including Sik Sik Yuen, the Hong Kong Immigration Service Officers Association and the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Association.
